Today is October the 19th....the day my dad was born. On that day almost 60 years ago, this world was blessed with a man who was both wise and tenacious. He was not content to conform to weakness and victim-hood. Though he grew up in the lowest levels of poverty, the middle child of three siblings, to a marine father and stay at home mother, he believed in hard work as his path to success. He excelled in school and he took years off of college to work two jobs to support his family. He graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Masters in Economics and Buisness Major. He married my mother and stayed completely faithful to her. He started his own buisness, "Corbett Concrete Construction" where he demonstrated his skills in management, construction, contracting, field work, and discipline....and then, in 1992, he had me.
I am truly blessed to have not just a father but a dad. Those two words are not the same thing. A father is simply a parent...a man who had sex with a woman
